Actually a great price - B&H had (maybe still have) one that was over 100K last time I saw it. There is a funny B&H page where they test it from their roof.

Edit: Yeah here it is.... I would buy one if I could find a bag to put it in :-)

I would but they are obviously gouging on the shipping. $1275? Really? Heck they probably want to charge extra for insurance!

Besides it's an F5.6 lens, way too slow for sports!

Looks it even has AF. It's like big boats, cheaper to rent one when you need it.

Heck -- it's only 36 lbs. I could still hand hold it. Who needs a tripod?

The auction ended in July anyway. It's also worth noting that the $1265 for shipping was the ECONOMY rate! Whatever happened to USPS Flat Rate shipping? Jejeje...

lets see how would that one go......Honey i bought a gym membership....really good for you, i'm really glad your trying to stay in shape!...no silly it's so i can hold my new camera lense without a tripod......geez men.

Uhm you probably would want to get a Gimbel head and a carbon-fibre tripod rated strong enough to hold that suckah steady...and that will probably set you back a few grand...just sayin
