I'm borrowing a page from Melethia when it comes to rallying the folks to comment.

The "Best Of" is an exploration. Those who share and enter, hope they do well. But most just enjoy feedback/impressions.

So here is the challenge - leave 20 comments/impressions/critiques on those that strike a chord with you. Try to vary the number of comments across your voting scale so that hopefully everyone gets at least one comment.

Just think, if all 406 participants comment on at least 20 then the culminated total for the challenge would be 8,120!

Best of 2010 Challenge comment total was 4,933 - let's try to beat that number by some leaps and bounds!!!!!!

For those who have either already met that quota or went above and beyond the humble number of 20, thank you for participation.

I find it impossible to comment on this challenge because I know how much each entry means to its owner. We all had 3 weeks to choose the best of our best of a whole year 2011. I feel intimidated by this fact alone.

Just in case anyone needed some help with this, the deadline for voting has been extended a bit.

I was just thinking, that extension will be torture for the participants!! I have 100 left to vote on... might leave them until tomorrow

Mine isn't going to get any better in the extended period, I'm afraid.

But I might be able to get to 100% comments.

Understood. One fears that what one says will be abrasive or flat out wrong (for example, the artist may have been incorporating the technique of bokeh to project mood and it was fully intentional rather than having everything crystal clear sharp).

But if you don't venture out to explore how to express your thoughts by exploring other imagery how/where do you draw inspiration from? How do you discover new things and new 'angles' of thought? Commenting can be another avenue of looking at things in a new light and as such it enriches not just the photographer who receives the comment but the commentor too.
