****THIS DEAL IS NOW DEAD. IT WAS A HUGE MARKETING ERROR ON ADOBE'S PART****

: )

80% off education pricing until March 3

//slickdeals.net/permadeal/69518/adobe-80-off-adobe-student-and-teacher-edition-software-acrobat-x-pro-24-photoshop-cs5-extended-40-creative-suite-5.5-master-collection

So, if you have a student or faculty/staff ID, now is the time to whip them out. If you don't have one, find someone who does that doesn't wish to partake in the deal.

I thought I was never going to upgrade from the CS3. I'm so tempted. Are the prices for real?

I just finished downloading & installing the trial version (it will take a couple days to get the validation & serial number). I hadn't even bothered to look at this before because it was so expensive. I can't believe how different it is.

I assume they're doing this because you have to have CS5 to upgrade to cs6. You can't upgrade from previous versions (from what I understand).

My question is: does is really make sense to buy CS5 now to have to pay the upgrade of $200 (or whatever in a couple of months to CS6? Are are we better off waiting until the end of March, pay the $200 for cs5 and get a free CS6 upgrade (if we can do it in the right time period)

Well, you don't have to upgrade to CS6. I was still at CS2, so for $40 I went up to CS5. I think it will hold me for a few years.

I had just ordered the production suite for my son, they shipped, I paid $380, now I have to return it, unopened of course, and order the same one for 89. Thanks for the heads up!

It turns out that this was a HUGE HUGE HUGE marketing error, and the discount code no longer works.

I should have ordered yesterday. : (

Wow. I wonder now if I'll get my serial number or not. Because they don't actually charge you until your proof has been validated, they could back out. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
