Hi there,
I am interested in getting a new digital camera. But I have no idea what kind I want to get. So first I want to get a book on digital photography that has some sort of comparison section to help me decide. I also want the book to have information on lighting, terminology... how to take good pictures basically.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is where the internet is your friend. By the time a book or magazine comes out it's already old news.
For comparisons of digital cameras I would go to a website like Digital Photography Review. There you can get up to date information on the various cameras as they are announced. You can also compare cameras side by side or search for features that are most important to you. They also have some information available on the other topics you've listed as well as some very active forums where you can get specific questions answered.
For more general information on how to take photos, books can be a good alternative. However, again I would lean toward the web. Kodak has a lot of good information on the basics of taking good photos. Just click on the "Taking Great Pictures" link at the top of the Kodak website. There are tons of other websites covering technique. |
