I don't remember a "no vote" situation for 37 minutes in a challenge. Some views w/o a vote attached. Just really strange.

Before you vote make sure you know what 'motion panning' is, look for previous challenges before deciding.

I just got a comment which I don't agree with and a 3, but mine DMC.

:(

I just went from a 7 to a 6 with a vote of 1. I'll trade you for your 3. :)

+1000

The same here. But I'm sure the image will get a better score than 6, where it is right now.

Since I apparently don't "know what 'motion panning' is, look for previous challenges before deciding." I figured it wasn't worth the hassle.

Two comments on not being panning... sometimes it's very hard to love this place...

Please search for definitions of panning - there are so many ways to get it.

Also please don't assume that those blurs have been added in Photoshop even if they appear that way. Vote as if they are legit.

Huge disappointment, so far. The two comments indicate DNMC. Well, that would be an incorrect assumption by people who have never tried the technique I used. Oh, well. I like my image very much. It was a very successful effort at motion panning.

Perhaps people are thinking that the subject needs to be in focus for motion panning. That's one possible option. But I like the definition that Langdon uses.

"In photography, panning is a technique used to suggest fast motion and bring out foreground from background. Use this panning technique to create your submission."

This is the same challenge description that was used for the earlier three challenges as well. In those, the more conventional approach to motion pannning (subject in focus and background blurred) appears to have been rewarded. Not to suggest that this is the only way to fulfill the challenge description, but it is what most people expect to see.

I agree, the first thing I thought was subject in focus and everything else blurred. If the whole image is in blur it would have to be an eye-catching image to score well with the majority of voters.(IMO)

One positive comment and one explaining my image is DNMC.

I have 2 dnmc comments from ppl informing I don't know what panning is because my subject isn't in perfect focus, makes me laugh these ppl the dnmc stazi, well my plan to lower my average for the knockout is working well gone from consistent 6+ to 5s or 4.8 haha

I'm at 4.6 :)

It appears the chief dnmc stazi has rescinded their patronising comment maybe they're learning

I removed all my DNMC comments because I don't know what I'm talking about. I have no vote now lower than a 5.

Welcome to the bicycle challenge. ;P

This was tough for me as I tended to want the subject to be more in focus, but not all that I gave higher scores to were "tack sharp" as some think is needed. Some had the feel of panning without any of it being focused.

Good luck to all who entered.
