Really I didn't. There are no local camera stores, so when we are in Cape Girardeau, I usually try to stop in at their local camera store.

I wanted to stop in and get some Kodak HC-110 developer to do some B@W film processing. ( Shipping on that stuff is pricey.)

When I walked in they had a 5D MK II sitting on the counter. Got to talking with the owner a out cameras, and pictures, the next thing I know he is showing me the camera, and says that with the MK III being out, Canon will let him give me a very good price. But the beautiful 135 f2 L I've been looking through, is not for sale, it's his. But, he happens to have a 70-200 L zoom that a customer is selling for a very reasonable price.

I didn't mean to buy a camera today. But now I have a camera, and my first L glass.

Totally forgot about the developer. Now I have to go back...

Mind you don't pick up a 17-40L when you go back

Gotta love these accidental purchasers. While you're at it, why don't you accidentally grab yourself a Miata or something fun? :-)

Actually, I'm thinking I'll go ahead and order the developer on line. Turns out that shipping actually is cheaper.

Sadly, every word of it is true. And the whole time, Sharon (my wife) just stood there and looked at me like I was crazy. She didn't even stop me or anything. Though she did say this means I don't get a new big screen TV now. Hey, it's summer reruns, and reality shows, now anyway. ;-)

Geeze, that took guts? In FRONT of the wife? Phew!

My sister's guiding a tour in Turkey right now. My brother-in-law decided he needed a "backup" for his D7000 and just bought a D800... "It will be a surprise to Susan, but that's what she gets for going to Turkey and leaving me alone for 3 weeks."

Jejeje...

Secondly, I dont want to be nosy, you can tell me to shove off if you like but you really got me curious what kind of deal he cut you on the body.

I just got back in town from vacation. Had I known you were relatively close I'd have met you to give you that Canon 9000 printer. And yes I mean GIVE it to you. I never got around to actually selling it and my wife wants it out of the way. :D

MEN to look up to.

I've been softening my better-half up for weeks now, talking about 30 000 more actuations than the camera is rated for, buttons that get stuck etc....

She just says I can buy any camera I want out of my photograph sales, which stands at R 120.00 That's $13.5......

Enjoy the new equipment.

If I would have known you wanted to give it away, I would have driven up to St. Louis and bought you lunch! :D

Perhaps, but be sure to compare the consequences if your request is denied ...

Or, you could try what I did: " Honest hun, it followed me home " it used to work quite well when I was a kid.

Haha! Lol at this. The opposite happened to me. I took my husband into a store to buy camera batteries, and we came out with a big screen TV. Maybe if I hadn't taken him in with me I would have come out with a new camera. (Actually next time I went into that store alone I came out with two cameras, but that was somewhat premeditated.)

Next time you are up this way let me know. You only need go as far as Festus/Crystal City exit 174MM not all the way to St. Louis. I work in that town. Give me some advance warning and I'll try to move my schedule around for a lunch. :p
