I'm all for this one as well.

I'd be in it, most importantly to view the offerings, time to break out my copies of the Road, I am legend, Children of Men and start playing the halflife series.

Or I guess you can just go to Chernobyl and take a non-expert edited shot.

I'm all for it, the inside of our barn should do the trick, love to see what everybody comes up with.

Yes, and the site should crash for three hours after turnover.

It's good to have some space where people who prefer digital art can chill, I'm not that keen on and I'm crap at digital art but we have to cater for all tastes.

Agree with you.

There is time and place for everything. Some people skills with the "Photoshop Shenanigans" are quite impressive. However, not my cup of tea, and I'll stay out of it if its Expert edit...

I would love to see these entries!

Wonderful suggestion. And yes, it provides an expert editing 'vent' for those of us who might otherwise be inclined to glom our advanced entries up the wazoo, so I hope the anti-experts will tolerate it ;-)

Great suggestion. Whether I can come up with an entry or not I look forward to seeing what others do. And, yes, expert, not just because it will provide fantastic scope, but because the OP suggested it and it should be his call.

If we go post-apocalyptic, can we ever do it again? Go out with a bang. Go expert.

the site should crash for twelve hours prior to the entry deadline and we should then enter self-portraits

Would love to join this challenge.
I have some great ideas (well, seems that what I think is a great idea, others do not. lol. to each their own)
Anyhow... if I only had a private jet plane... the places I would go...
Ha. Maybe I will find something, somewhere... and actually be able to use my photoshop (wannabe) skills.

off topic but how does one link an image not on this site to a thumbnail like in the original post?

I don't think there is a DPC-native way of doing so. What I did is insert an actual external image in the message, which was in fact a thumbnail hosted by the external website. Then wrapped it inside a link.

Okay, Expert Editing ruleset. I'm sure there will be fantastic presentations.

I just want to say that this challenge can be accomplished with using good photography that is not dependent, nor dramatically altered with Photoshop drawing and painting. After all, this is a photography contest site. I don't begrudge the significant effort of those who wish to use the techniques allowed, but I'm more interested in presenting a photograph which meets the challenge description.

There is no problem. The frequent Expert Edit ruleset "constraint" is something I've learned to accept and live with. That doesn't mean I have to learn to paint with altered pixels. Never have been a painter.

Just a little hungry for regular challenges with broad appeal... which would be of interest to those with cameras and lenses.

To be fair, you can well enter without shopping something to hell. I've gone top ten in an expert challenge with no more than advanced editing, you can too.

Besides, I can't really complain about the <10% expert challenges.

What I DO want to complain about is the complete lack of minimal challenges.
