is there a way to see how a picture is going to look at a certain size before printing it? So far i've been cropping the image to whatever size I want to print, then zooming into 100% but i'm not sure if thats effective. I have a client that wants a 28"x24" Print on Canvas... it's going to be pretty expensive so I want to make sure the image is going to look good so i don't get sued lol.

you could zoom to actual size in photoshop.

it will probably look fine unless they were right on top of it. you need to take into consideration the viewing distance.

Your camera has plenty of megapixels for a print that size. In my experience, you can generally get away with going as low as 150 DPI for large prints.

If you're not familiar with the printer you're using, the biggest issue for you might be getting proper color and tonal reproduction. You might want to get some 4x6 prints first so you can calibrate accordingly.

ok sounds good thank you Mike and Mycelium

Mycelium, I normally do worry about the colour as I calibrated my macbook pro with the colour calibration software that comes on the mac. This image is a black and white so it should be close enough.

Thanks again for the help/comments.
