I'm making it official with a thread:

I would like to see Bear_Music join the Site Council.

The Bear does great just as he is. He probably don't need the additional stress of being on the SC, since he's not in the best of health.
He's one of the nicest guys on DCP, but will not hold back about telling you what he thinks if he feels it will help you to improve your photos.

Hopefully, we will meet someday and chat about to old days of silver and vinegar in he darkroom.

He has said that he'd be willing, and that he has the time.

ETA: And yes, I too would like to meet him myself.. :)

Bear is DPC, if he wants the added responsibility of being on the SC then I don't see another human being on the planet more deserving or qualified for the position.

If there was a DPC hall of fame Bear would be in the inaugural class.

+1 !

(to all of it: bear for sc, meeting him, replace scalvert, drinking vinegar in a dark room, etc.)

Um no. scalvert does a great job; controversial at times but fully engaged and willing to get into a wide variety of issues.

I'm a fan of Bear too of course, but no replacements needed; bolstering only thank you.

Gotta say, I'm not in support of removing ANYONE from the SC, we need more faces, not different faces.

Bear_Music is knowledgeable, even-handed and dedicated to being a helpful citizen. Big +1 for his add to SC.

Don't leave out Rule 6! Rule 6 is overly restrictive.

Quite a few times I have thought Robert actually was site council until I noticed his standard icon. Certainly can't think of anyone better to boost their numbers.

Some years ago there was a call for volunteers to be on Site Council.
Bear was nominated by about half the members, and the other half seconded the motion.
Alas, it didn't work. (Was he too wet behind the years?!?)
It's about time we got this willing and able member elected/drafted/selected to Site Council.

(I Think somebody nominated Strikeslip too, but that's another story.)
PS. that last sentence was meant to be a little joke to liven things up a little bit.

If Bear is willing to take on the additional duties, I can think of nobody better qualified to be site council. He has, for the years I have been associated with DPC, been nothing but helpful and informative. Again, presuming his willingness, I would happily vote to draft Robert.

Slippy, in my opinion would make a fascinating addition to the SC... Maybe more of an advisory board, headed by Slippy, Art and a couple of others, just to keep us on our toes...

Oh, yes. as a Cabinet members, Slippy and Art would definitely keep us on our toes and bouncing along so much we wouldn't have time to squabble. Yes, Yes!

But, first. Bear!
