ALL THREE ribbons over 8.0... Astonishing!
10/01/2012 12:19:24 AM · #2
I know I was watching my eight+ and wondering if it would even HM.

There are some extraordinarily wonderful images in this challenge.
10/01/2012 12:27:11 AM · #3
And all three deserve it.

Amazing images for this challenge. Well done everyone.

A big CONGRATS to the ribbon winners.

And to answer the forum title question - yes:-)

Nursery Rhymes

Wildlife III and Postcard II came close.

Not only that Robert but 3.7 more voters than entrants. That too is a record imo.

Congrats to all the ribboners. The standard overall was brilliant. Not only were the top 3 over 8, but the top 8 scored 7 upwards.

And all three made it to the Highest Rated Photos page with a #34, #41 and #45. That's pretty cool. I was going to suggest a challenge for the top 1000 images - just a month of voting on those images on that page to see how they would stack up against each other. Would be interesting to see mine free-fall in that group ;-) Not worth suggesting something that won't happen though.

Thanks all. Twas fun.

Super surprised when I saw the results this morning - I gave more or less the same average score (maybe lower) I usually cast.

What attracted so much enthusiast voters?
10/01/2012 04:06:48 AM · #10
im surprised at that score, i guess they met the challenge or more generous voters in this challenge. well done to all the ribboners :)

I just feel bad for the poor sap who scored an 8 and still didn't get a blue ribbon...

It looks like it happened on a nursery rhymes challenge. Look at the link Art posted and Gayaban has a yellow ribbon winner at 8 + in that nursery rhyme challenge.

Nothing should be opinion when you can check the numbers.
Quick perusal shows the Vanish challenge stomps all over this number.

217 entries in that one. You wouldn't have as many 8s today if we were still getting that many entries on average.

Just ran this through Excel and there's a pretty strong inverse correlation to the highest score relative to the number of entries. If you only include Advanced and Expert editing challenges, it's greatly reinforced.

Meaning Yanklo is right, or Yanko is mistaken?

That more than likely, Yanko is right.
edit - It's a correlation, so I can only hypothesize what would happen now.

You know its a high scoring challenge when you got a 7.5 and `only` placed 5th... those were the days eh?

How *DO* you wake up a dead guy?

I guess we should ask George Romero.....
