We're two months away from when this was suppose to start and I was going to start seeing who was interested, but after further thought I'm not to follow through.

Reasons include, but are not limited to:
- Time is precious, and it would take a lot of time to setup and run.
- I don't plan on renewing my membership
- The heavy hitters complaining about my system because it doesn't favor the heavy hitters.

For all those who sent PMs wanting this, I apologize for getting your hopes up. It's just not meant to come to fruition, at least not on this site.

It doesn't mean someone else can't take over. I just realized time will be hard to come by very soon, and the last thing I want is a half-assed effort when people are relying on you.

There are a couple other reasons, but the first one is the most predominant.

Over the years I've found DPC to have a very high proportion of whiners. Someone will ALWAYS have a problem with something, no matter what it is. Attempting to please everybody in this crowd is pointless.

I'm one of the them when it comes time for following the challenge description. So I guess I'm part of the problem as well.

I guess I cannot blame you -- it would take a lot of time. Thanks for giving it some serious consideration.

Still, I am sad to hear this. I, too, was really looking forward to a little team competition, and I was liking the idea of somehow adding some more parity to the teams.

Ditto.

Definitely bummed to hear the news, but understand where you're coming from. Think of it like this though- if people are interested enough to participate, they can participate on your terms. If they don't like their terms, don't participate.

Not unexpected considering you almost canned the whole thing in initial discussions.

Your model was very well thought out and it promised to be more interesting than past similar events, but your fuse is far too short to have actually run it. Better to realize that now than halfway through. No offense. You know this.

It's more about the time, really, it is.
This week I haven't seen my daughter at night. As we get closer to mid December, it'll only get worse. It's bonus season at the bank and the more work you crank out, the better it is. My dad retired at 52 and I'm trying to beat him in this regard.

I can separate a lot of things, like when I disagree with members in one thread and pretend it never happened in another, but there's still an ounce of truth to your comment.

I bought my renewal for nothing - not blaming you Venser, I understand your reasons- I have lost interest in this site but was looking forward to getting a renewed sense of wanting to participate. Oh well.

Just out of curiosity, was your dome going to have a retractable roof and luxury suites?

If the site owner would just go ahead and get DPL going again it wouldn't be a problem, while it is great so many members often step up to run extra stuff it is time consuming for little or no reward where the owner is getting our money and won't do it. Is it really that difficult to put in place considering we have had the dpl before? I wouldn't think it would be very difficult to start dpl 3

There's another reason.
As a programmer, if it's already been done twice before, aside from setting up the team messaging system and vote restrictions for teammates, it should take minimal effort.
