A few weeks ago we suddenly had an unanticipated family event develop: a wedding, of my stepdaughter, in Seattle. Since Penny and I couldn't get out there on such short notice, we reached out to our DPC friends in the area for a little photographic help. Jason ( Smardaz) was able to match his schedule with our urgent needs, and he waded right in and did a wonderful job of photography on dismayingly short notice.

So here's a shout-out to Jason; the whole family's thrilled with his work, and we'll be forever grateful :-)

I'll leave it up to him to post what he feels like posting; he has our permission.

Nice thread title! I was going to call it "how to get a free dinner at Benihanas from Bear's stepdaughter's husband's parents" but that doesn't quite roll off the tongue...

It was pretty fun, and the family could not have been nicer (and Bears ex-wife is hot!).

Maybe the easiest thing to post is the music video. It's only 3 minutes and the music is Tony Bennet, what better way to spend 3 miutes of your life:

Wedding Video

Ha! I can't wait to see photos and the video.
I am phone illiterate and that's all I have right now.
I'm not surprised that Smardaz stepped up, nor that Besr's ex is hot, nor that a great photographer got a free meal from classy folks.

It doesn't surprise me one tiny itsy bitsy that smardaz stepped up to the plate. The guy is everywhere trying to make this place a better experience - and wedding??? Honestly for Bear_Music at that - and by that I mean my hands would be shaking too badly to get anything other than a blur - that's what you get for being a senior statesman Bear (grin)

I am so glad that the photos turned out well and that all are happy with them - it's so nice to read positive things on DP - I was thinking the other day how nice it would be if we had one week where the only thing that was posted was positive.

KarenNfld always does her part in improving this place and has for years - Jason has started his comment bombs as an added surprise to some people's in boxes - the ribbons are nice but what I think is even nicer is awards from Posthumous and others who award photos that speak to another winning criteria.

But you have to give to get and Bear_Music it was so nice of you to do a shout out for one of DP's goodwill ambassadors. However, I read often that you have helped people in the past and have made many good friends on here. Now I wonder why that is :)

Just lately I have had some advice given to me from an unexpected source that just excited and re-motivated me beyond belief and I love the side challenges where I have finally found my niche.

Congratulations to the newly married couple and may you have many years of bliss.

Thought maybe I would post a few of my favorites in case someone doesn't want to wach the video. Rented the 85 1.2 for this....big mistake because now I am obsessed with getting one.

True for me on both counts Young MacDonald, I was slightly terrified taking on something for Robert. Also, he's been very kind to me with advice whenever I ask and also giving his old Lensbaby to Sofia when he upgraded. So I was happy to give some of the love back.

that is a really good question, it's an Animoto template. My guess was fireflies or pollen since the theme seems to be centered around a tree.

Kinda doubt they're fireflies in Seattle...
