Please be aware that effective immediately, we have removed the "unmoderated" designation from the Rant folder. While this change will not be used to limit the types of discussions that go on in that folder, it is our hope that this change will encourage the participants in rant threads to participate in a courteous and constructive manner. When participants choose not to do so, it will also strengthen Site Council's ability to guide the discussions in that direction.

It is our hope that this will further encourage the constructive, mutually respectful environment the vast majority of participants choose to cultivate.

I thought all the forums were effectively moderated by the SC? I know that I have seen posts that were out of line deleted/hidden/altered by the SC.

Is this change just semantics, does it represent a change in policy or an increase in the activity of the SC in monitoring the rant forum?

Just wondering

The Rant folder was previously listed as an unmoderated forum section. While we would still deal with Terms of Service violations, most etiquette infractions were left alone (personal attacks and the like).

This change gives Site Council the authority to regulate the Rant folder as any other.

I think your answer means the moderators moderate the members and the the administrators moderate the moderators and the administrators moderate themselves. lol, of course you realize I am kidding. lol

Like much kidding, there's a grain of truth in it as well. It's the basic problem of any system of control or regulation, who watches the watchers? Fortunately our "country" is contructed with a simple chain of command and the option of rule by oligarchic fiat.

You speak truth when you apply your meaning to Countries run by Kings and Queens and dictators. In the USA the safeguards have been instituded to even over-ride the President.

Except, of course, the current US administration is doing everything it can to dismantle those checks and balances.

Can we move this thread to the rant forum so it can be moderated now?

By "our 'country'" in my previous post I meant the DPC website only, not any actual geo-political entity. (That's why I had the word in quotation marks.) Sorry for any confusion.

**ComputerKing waits to see if Christyrack gets to become a Moderator:)**

Actually, christyrack, if you want, you can alter your little icon, host it on-site, and put it in your Sig... Like mine:)

Aside from becoming a Mod, That's the best you can do.

Ok....as I was writing in this forum, my 5 year old son pointed a few things out that I think should be brought to attention: GeneralE.....you're the white power ranger, ClubJuggle....you're the red power ranger, and aparently the coolest of the cool...Konador....I hate to be the giver of bad news, but you're one of the ghouls...you know...the BAD ghouls who always get zapped by the megazord in the end. :)
