Shoes are a great topic. Everybody has 'em, and there's a world of things you can do with them.

I beg to differ. The only thing that we can argue over is the amount of photoshop this site caters to. You would be hard pressed to find many entries (especially highly rated ones) that don't go through a fair amount of PS.

Making it advanced simply puts restrictions on the minority of those that would have taken advantage of it. It has no impact on those that wouldn't have used the expert capabilities anyway, of which most entries probably would have fallen into. So, effectively, it doesn't allow everyone to see and judge everyone's best work.

I suspect what you really mean is that the site caters to images that are more photographic in nature. Not a clear cut description I know, but I guess I am trying to say the the majority of the site doesn't want too much fantasy art type of images. That's fine, but easily solved with people's votes.

Of course 'Warmth' hits today. I've been in Key West for the last three days, and we're driving north today, under thick, grey clouds. They don't convey 'warmth'.

While I personally like both, having both in the best of challenge is like putting a Volkswagen in a Ferrari challenge. I stand by my original statement that having a best of for each makes more sense, could even throw in a basic also.

Sounds like you are saying the VW could never win, but the folks that own a VW want to win so we will give them a category where they don't have to compete with the Ferraris. That, to me, says we are not showing the best of most people's work...
