Here's a ball roller …

Word on the Street

Edit to add this DPC portfolio 'cover photo' for comments, so as to avoid cluttering up this forum thread with comments.

Wow, how do we follow that!

Well, someone has to be second in line, so here's my offering.

Beautifully done ... the only thing I didn't like was the small(er) type on your tech notes at the end. :-)

Time to dust off the Purple Prose Award. The photos are fine, but the writing's exceptional.

Alice, your offering is like a great bowl of Mac 'n cheese or something. Super comfort food. Well done!

Paul, yours is like master class on how to be an iconoclast... I'm in awe. Fantastic work.

I did too ...

I think "Nicasio" is Spanish — I've always pronounced it Nick-ah-see-oh with the (slight) stress on the first syllable, though I think maybe it's supposed to be on the third ...

I've always pronounced it: ni-cah'-see-oh.
It's probably Spanish, but I couldn't easily find out for sure.
One of the word's meanings is "origin"
A bit of amusing trivia: Nicasio's zipcode of 94946 is considered the 23rd most expensive zipcode in the United States; besides the horse breeding and wineries in the area, this zipcode is home to the George Lucas Skywalker Ranch.

Alice, lovely presentation of a very appealing little town. Thank you for the tour. I had never heard of it and it can't be too far from me.

It would be nice if we could post the photo essays in one forum and the comments in a different one. I'm afraid that now we could omit some essay or have to go continuously back and forth.

mariuca, I'm most impressed and intrigued with the way all of your people are turned to paper dolls during your gloaming hour. Another excellent essay - thank you!!
