Ok here we go.... just another stinking Yellowstone thread looking for advise.

I will be in Yellowstone here in August for 6 days. We have an RV and will be staying at Fishing Bridge.
there are 4 of us, so August was the ONLY time the 4 of us could sync our schedule this year. We will try for one of the less touristy times next year.
This will be my 3rd trip, one of the other guys 4th trip, another guys 2nd trip and a newbie. The Newbie is big and out of shape so he wont be able to do much hiking.

We are looking for some recommendations for some day hikes and short hikes. We have mainly stuck to the "tourist" spots right on the road for photos and such. Or waiting somewhere patiently for wild life. I have been reading the Yellowstone forms and have some good ideas from there, but I'm looking to gather more info on day hikes and such from the good folks here. The 3 of us hikers are in good shape and are good up to 10 miles total distance per hike, as long as the elevation gain is not horrendous. The 4th guy might end up being a driver to drop us off and pick us up since he cant hike more than 1 mile on easy ground.

We have done the following:

Trout Lake
Wraith Falls
Tower Falls (trail was closed but I snuck around the long way to get the base of the falls, and will do so again this time, but now i know a short cut)
Fairy Falls
Grand Prismatic from the Fairy Falls trail
Old Faithful geyser area
Mammoth hot springs
Fire hole lake area (its closed now due to over active thermal feature melting the road)

again, we have seen a lot, but we have not gotten away from the road so we are looking to expand what we have seen.

Shoshone Lake above Lewis Lake (good fishing too).

Grizzley Peak e of Yellowstone Lake, maybe a bit too long though.

Norris Geyser Basin (my favorite basin for wildlife and hot springs/geysers). Echinos and Steamboat Geyser trail is fairly gentle and wonderful.

Heart Lake at south of West Thumb is a nice hike

thanks for the info, I have not seen anything on Shoshone Lake or Heart Lake, so I will read up on those. I do like the Norris area as well. I cant remember if I looked into Grizley peak before or not, but I will read up on it as well
