Now that the indefatigable Christophe, aka gyaban, has finally become a daddy, let's help him out by coming up with an image which he could use to help decorate baby Emilie's nursery...something kinda like the modern-day Disney movies, where although the primary audience is the child, having in a few visual gags for the parents to appreciate helps :-)

Expert editing, of course.

Then he will end up with his umpteenth blue ribbon in a challenge about his own child. lol
Has there been an Expert editing challenge he hasn't won?

I'd be in though, it would be fun to get the practice.

So what's the theme of a challenge like this "Decorate a nursery"?

Interesting. We put little trains, cars, and airplanes in our sons room when he was a newborn. :-)

"Decorate Baby Emilie's Nursery" is the title in the queue :-)

Lame or not, I suggested this challenge so am glad to see it made it here.

Yup -- but I think some people are being extremely limited in their views. It doesn't have to be limited to nursery rhymes, any type of pictures can decorate a nursery! Musical themes, race cars, flowers, calming landscapes with boats, cute construction workers (well, maybe not that... :)

Open your minds, people! Be creative! Have fun with a challenge that celebrates the happiness of one of our own!

Not lame at all, snaffles -- excellent suggestion!

(Besides that, if you want to stay in the kid realm, fairy tales are sooooo much more interesting than nursery rhymes. :)

What Wendy said. This isn't ABOUT nursery rhymes or anything like that; it's about creating an image to delight a child (and that child's parents) that might be HUNG in the nursery. It's a FREE STUDY with a bit of focus: let's get creative!

What are the current odds on Christophe winning this one, too?

I think that would be awesome, actually. I'm sooooo looking forward to seeing his entry. :)

After all, he does have a little more insight. However, those of us who are parents might have more experience. :)

Odds on Blue, 3:1 I'd say. Odds on any color ribbon, maybe 1:20 :-) Assuming he has TIME to enter, that is. Diaper duty might reduce available processing time below criticality.

I think that's going to be a major factor, some of us counting on him to not quite have enough time to turn out his usual masterpiece...*snicker snicker* ;-) But he'll probably still kick our butts anyway!

I can say with some confidence that the same odds apply to my entry, if applied to the other end of the results ... ;-)

At least when he kicks our butts -- he should have some extra desitin or baby powder to help with the chafing. ;)

Sorry, but I just see this as lame to the community as a whole and more relevant in the 'Personal Life' category as a side challenge.

Or alternatively, this falls into the same category as the challenges we had for Shez, and Doc. We are a community. It is refreshing to see that we occasionally respond to major changes in each other's lives. One such challenge every other year is hardly "lame".

OMG. There are many challenge topics that I think are lame. That's why I created THIS THREAD. Take the whining over there.
