After all the constant squawking about there never being any Minimal Challenges about, I'm surprised to see so few entries.

Yeah, the theme is challenging, but isn't that what it's all about???

the theme isn't challenging. It's easy to take a picture of a computer monitor.

It is pretty easy to take an image that fits the challenge. I bit tougher to take an interesting image that fits this particular theme.

If I were to take an image of my workstation I'd certainly win the brown, and my home might be condemned. Ok, maybe not that bad, but it's close.

Totally agree with what the others have said. A photo of my laptop on the living room table is pretty dull even if I do include a glass of beer or wine next to it. Now if I smoked Cuban cigars it could get a bit more interesting. I did consider taking my computer to a local field of sheep but it is pouring with rain and I am quite lazy

It feels like a very limited scope of what might be considered DNMC- and that may make people say, I am either going to take a shot of myself at the keyboard from an interesting angle, or just forget the whole thing.

I'm just too lazy to take the time to clean up all of the clutter & dust around my work area! :-D

I dont know how to make my camera shoot anything but RAW.

At least everyone will be in the top 20 LOL!

It was very hard to do something without it being a snap shot.. to me this was not photography but just an odd snap shot of an area where I sit for 12hrs a day from working from home.. damn should have added that beer LOL

The topic for this challenge just doesn't fit with minimal editing rules. Such a waste of a minimal editing challenge. I would have liked to enter if the topic was better. I just can't think of any way to make my computer look interesting with minimal editing. I don't even know if I could manage it with expert editing ;) So this is a double whammy: uninteresting subject paired with a editing rule set that makes it even harder to make anything out of it.

Yah, well, I kinda lucked into what I think might be a half decent entry, so that's why I'm feeling so perky about it.

I do love to poke the hornet's nest, though! LOL!!!

It does look like I should end up in the Top 50 though!

No doubt some people are confused ...
I, like some others, thought the challenge was to do "in camera" type editing to achieve the effect that it was editing in a dark-room kinda thing. But from what i can tell it is a more literal "take a photo of the place where this stuff happens" kinda thing.
I am anxious to see what photogs come up with and if I have time I will contribute as well. Minimal edit images often need more front-end time - and this is no exception.

Seems to me it will be whoever has the nicest den, office or view wins.
Maybe I should sit on the bowl with my laptop.

I don't have time to go look for the box, but right around the same time Photoshop came out (25 years ago!) there was another software package called "Digital Darkroom" -- I'm kind of surprised Adobe never bought the name because it seems better even if the software wasn't ...

+a gazillion

Plus I have no idea how I would make it interesting anyway. This isn't really a fair test of whether we enjoy at least the occasional minimal challenge or not, I think.

hahah, to make ya all feel better, I did not clean up around my area at all. It was kinda hard to shoot around all the stuff to make it look neat

Meh.... poking at a hornest's nest with a big stick in sub 30C temperatures is really not all that eventful. :O)
