Although I am extremely happy with my results as this is the best score I have had to date : ) I would like to know why it scored what it did...If anyone would be kind enough to help me out, I sure would be grateful! Thank you so much!

First of all, this is a image with great color and nice details. Not too sharp but clear and clean. Definitely worthy of many thumbs-up.
The score, IMHO, would be higher if the horizon allowed for the entire tree to be visible (trunk meeting the ground). This would help my mind gather more desired info about the location. I also think another identifiable object would give more context about size.
I also think pulling back a little bit to have a less centered composition might add interest.
BTW: I gave it a 7.

Thank you! Yes I tried to lighten the shadows where you could see the bottom of the trunk, but I figured it wasn't enough.. but thanks for the 7! I made it a square crop because I wanted it centered because of the where the sun was...

X2 - Kudos to your perseverance, I see you've been improving steadily since 2007! Way to go, keep it up.

As for this shot - it's pretty good overall - as others have said, it's not crazy sharp, nor the most interesting subject in the whole world, but you've taken a very solid shot of it at just the right moment. I think you're heading down the right path - perhaps next time try for a little bit more context if possible, this would be more interesting to me if I was able to see some more of the fields, or whatever. (I think - then again, it could be just the PERFECT crop for all I know, since whatever is outside the frame may need to STAY outside the frame here.)

YES! Everything that needed to stay outside of the frame needed to stay outside, I don't think it worked lol
But thank you so much for your kind words, means a lot!

I've done the same thing. For what it's worth, centered feels fine to me here.

Ok so I did have another shot where the sun was not centered with the tree. Some thought it would be better if the tree was not centered, so here it goes....
