Oh, and if someone from Glasseye improves by slipping into 3rd place you'd lose :(

:-)

But we have seen the remarkable come back of In the Works against the Hit Squad, so we only can wait.

Actually I think you just need to finish 1,2, 4, & 5, like Glasseye did and you'll win as there are more images in voting so the percentiles will close up a little (trust me, it works). Oh, and if someone from Glasseye improves by slipping into 3rd place you'd lose :(

so in other words, secure the top four spots. :P

You could not do it, too bad. To be honest we were hoping for much more competition in this final round.
But congratulations to you and your team with a second place in this year's DPL!

I'm also wondering which team became third. I have the feeling The Hit Squad had a good last run.

What was that you said about Hit Squad having a good run? :)

Here's what I have as unofficial results (percentages based again 64 entries in "Dirty, Filthy..." and 74 in "The End"):

Hit Squad: 90.4561
backdoorhippie - 93.2432
MeMex2 - 91.8919
ecmguy - 89.1892
cuttooth - 87.5000

Imagenation: 83.6888
smurfguy: 96.8750
tate: 94.5946
romil: 72.9730
Giorgio: 70.3125

Feel free to check the math, but I think the results are the same regardless.

Good contest, and a great run for the Hit Squad. This was our first week without any images on the front page, but we still managed to finish every week above 90%. Couldn't have asked for a better group of photographers.

Well played, Imagenation.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't personally thank Ecce_Signum for bumps on two of our images. If there's a Sportsmanship Award for the DPL you get my vote!!

Yes - congrats to the Hit Squad ...
Thanks for doing the math Jake.

You guys can proudly display this ribbon as you like:

As for ImageNation, this is our third DPL and I think we really stepped up. It was great fun and really great to work with such a diverse, involved, and competitive group.

It was great to see smurfguy get his first ribbon (currently on the front page). He really stepped up and we discovered that he does some of his best work in the last 4 hours before challenge deadline! =) And watching Giorgio and Andi ( Ecce_Signum) come out of DPC hibernation with great creativity was really awesome to be a part of. I feel like they are my friends now (according to Facebook, Andi is =) I learned that odriew (Jed) is "weirdo" spelled backwards but also that there's a reason he had a challenge named after him - his images are enchanting and his participation on the team was very appreciated. BrennanOB brought a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to our team. romil is one of those free agents I will take a little credit for -- I love his style and I can imagine his images making an impact for a long time into the future =)
Jean ( jnenvir) -it was so fun to get to know her and her love and talents in photography are something I love to see. As for Alice ( sfalice), she is the glue of this team. She was my first choice for DPL and is such a supportive, positive part of our team ... Not to mention someone I regularly PM'd to get her help ...

ImageNation, display this ribbon proudly and look forward to the next DPL =)

Mp Jake, if those 2 bumps had pushed ImageNation into 4th place it would have been fine (but Tate might have had words with me). As it was we were well beaten so congrats to you and the rest of the Hit Squad.

I'll echo what Tate said about our team, such a diverse bunch that I do believe we get some more bling as well :)

Awesome job Glasseye on winning the DPL! Remarkable week you guys had.

Thanks to all the teams, esp ImageNation and In The Works for a fun season.

Might as well make the winners one too please, because I dont think there is anything happening from the site, unless someone can correct me..

Thanks Jane. Would have loved to play against you in the final round, I consider The Hit Squad my 'second' team. But MAK came first and it paid out.
And of course congratulations on your third place, you've played some incredible rounds as well!

The most important thing about the DPL, as I always say and bang on & on about it, is that it brings people together, gets the site buzzing again and gives us all something to do. I thought there were some incredible achievements made from many team members, personal bests, first ribbons etc, it was a joy & an honour to be a part of it all and winning it was a nice cherry on the cake, thanks for your congratulations.

Let's get it rolling again soon.

Tate, when I saw those 3rd and 4th place awards you made I felt genuinely envious. They're quality stuff, man.

Yeah, they are pretty cool, for sure.
Well, did we ever fight you guys all the way to the end, and it may be you walked off with the trophies this time, but, heh, heh,
looked who designed 'em.
(Well, we have to crow about something!)
Got to say, if the camaraderie among your team members was as great as it was among ours, this DPL was a huge success.
Grand to know all of you!

And how does the expression go? "Wait until next time!"
