Wow, this is such a sad thread. Depressing.

I remember hundreds of votes at one point on some of my photos. but each year it dwindled. There was a lack of admin interest, the lack of hope in the members, just leaving, and they where truly amazing people who went on to great, glory to be the most famous in their world. .

I remember when the artistic photos in Advanced editing, where the most highly praised. Then we went into Excerpt. It went to a whole different level. A level that DPC, should have protected and had more rules and a fairer base than was allowed.

MY DPC, was about beginners, middle men and then people who knew more. BUT each level was willing to teach the other level. I Was taught by 4 of the best photographers , that where in DPC ,who ended up being the 1st World Photographers in the world.

Stop whining and ask the old timers for expert advice, suggestions , life experts, and open your mind.
be more humble when you do not know the answer, be polite,be respectful, . Judi is an older old timer than me on DPC, and she is an excellent photographer, if she says anything, take some other fabulous women., ,but she also has her own style,. Follow me, i have my own style, I learned after two years, studying under Manny, or Joey L , Joel Grimes., etc etc. But honestly it does not matter who are you connected, friends, asserts etc etc .

just stop blaming everyone else and what their rules are, follow the rules, and do what is your style. Do what is comfortable and what feels right to you and screw everyone else. Judi, Joel, Manny, Juliet do what they photograph, trust me, it all different styles.

Stop your friggin whining, and do you WHAT YOU do best and show the world your different styles, mostly as and cus you are all different in each of your styles , and that is what makes DPC different .

DO WHAT makes you happy. Otherwise, you will always follow the rules and be disappointed in what you do and never achieve what you think you should be. BE the biggest you can,.

I suspect those that are still here and chatting are also in the DPL and busy with private threads with teammates. Only so much time to chat, and now we're doing it in cliques of our own making.

Ever since the last big dpc update I can't get the page to load I keep getting "Internet explorer cannot display web page" So I'm not as active as I used to be.

Had you waited 30 seconds you'd have seen it got much worse.

Welcome back, Oliver, by the way. It didn't have to be sad. A bunch of old-schoolers pop in to remind the current members how much better it was when they were here. Not an original storyline... particularly for Internet-based communities.
