I cannot seem to access my photo's that I have on OneDrive since downloading Windows 10.

I get a message...

Finish setting up OneDrive

Sync all Files and Folders in OneDrive

all my boxes are checked

Shows amount of storage (which I want to be offline not on my computer)

Change where OneDrive is stored.

I need to access my pictures and finish my backups....I'm sooo stuck and can't figure this out. I've read the forums and help page on OneDrive but I can't get it to work....sigh

There's confusion here... Georges is not talking about Internet Explorer, he's talking about a plain old window, like you use to view folder contents. You should be able to see your files in the Win10 folder that is linked to OneDrive.

ETA: can you see the files from any other devices other than the Win10 computer?

Yes, my iPhone. But nothing is being backed up currently. No Syncing

So it sounds like on the Win10 'pooter you need to set up which folders are synced to OneDrive. Someone else will need to jump in here, since I have less than zero experience with OneDrive. Please do make sure that you have a non-cloud backup of data that you are syncing before you launch that process. There is the potential for data loss if the sync process thinks the "source" is empty... the "destination" may suddenly become empty and you've lost everything.

Here is a short description of how the functionality of OneDrive has changed with Win10.

ETA: Unless you *need* to have files stored locally, you really should not have to sync at all. Just open the OneDrive folder and you should see your files, assuming your computer is linked to the proper account.

It seems to be linked but it's not backing up (like it used to) that link seems to be disconnected

From the link I posted above, that seems to be the behavior I would expect. The key points are:
- The files that you had on OneDrive in earlier versions of Windows are in the cloud only. The "files" that appeared on the local machine were actually placeholders. The placeholders allowed you to see all of the files you had on OneDrive
- In previous versions of Windows, if you wanted files to be available offline, you had to tell OneDrive to sync them to your local machine
- In Win10, there are no more "placeholders." If you want certain files available off-line, you can still tell Windows to Sync them.
- The key difference here is that you will not see all of your OneDrive files at once (see this WindowsITPro post):
Originally posted by John Savill:

In Windows 10, the placeholder model has been replaced with selective sync. With selective sync you select the folders you'll use on a machine and all the data in that folder in then synchronized locally. Folders you don't select won't be visible on the machine and will need to be accessed using an online version of OneDrive.
