Purely for your enjoyment and awe at his talent: Jahi is an old friend. We were booksellers together years ago when he also worked a second job as a math teacher at one of the local high schools. He was exhibiting then, trying to "make money" at what he loved best. Eventually, got on at the local newspaper as a staff photographer. Oddly, I was working there, too.....but, in Circulation.

Finally, he got his break. The Washington Post hired him in 2001. Since then, he's been all over the world documenting crises and joys and anything else the world has to offer that needs to be covered. You'll understand all the awards listed in his bio. His work is jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, gut-wrenching.....just like it's supposed to be. Just wanted you to partake in something really special, so ENJOY!

So glad some of you are enjoying Jahi's stuff. I know some really good photographers, but I think Jahi tops the list. Inspiring!
