Though it seems like way too long, a couple seconds can actually work. It produces an artificially exaggerated 3D effect. The two of mine that were shot from airliners were shot with the Nikon 995, and believe me I was lucky to get a shot a second with that camera. I'd guess the separation in time on those was about a second or so.

That Wilson Arch shot did work out really well. Again a bit of an exaggerated baseline; if I recall correctly about 2 feet or so, a single step sideways. I'd love to get a redux on that one with better equipment, better light, and a better eye, LOL! |
