The current challenge "Flip 'n Blend Abstract II" asks to use original image in multiple layers; is there a way to do this in Lightroom 6?

No, but there are add-ons that let you work in layers in conjunction with Lightroom. See On1 Photo Suite 10 at least as one example. Whether you can do what's needed for this challenge, I don't know. The odds are it's better and easier to just use PS.
