Oh, and check the date settings on your camera - that bit is super important when you enter challenges. |

| Hi Jenna. Welcome at DPC, hope you'll have a great time. When you're seriously thinking of improving your photographic skills, you're on the right place. Just try to participate in as many challenges you like (please have a good look at the editing rules) and maybe even more important, try to vote and comment on as many images you can, trying to work out what you like and dislike in those images. And when you need any advise, please ask, there's an enormous amount of knowlewdge in this community. |

Another bit of unsolicited advice: when transferring your images from your camera to the computer, do it directly. Some programs alter the original, and that would be grounds for a DQ, if a validation is requested (the top 5 images are always validated).
Also, never, ever, EVER process your originals :) Make a copy and then have at it. |

Welcome aboard, I am new to this site also "about 1 month" and I am getting settled in and starting to like it more everyday, it is a bit different than other sites, but the people are helpful and a pleasure to communicate with in the forums. There are many extremely good photographers by what I have seen and some who need help, myself included. Hope you start entering contests and hope you like lit.

Hi Jenna!
Jump in and shake things up here, or at least, just enjoy the site.
The people are nice here, and what most of us know about photography is shared freely.
It's not at all like Fb or most other social sites. If you get a few comments on a photo here, you've earned them.
And last, a bit of advice, to make sure the date and time is set correctly in your camera if you are shooting for a challenge. |
