In the past few weeks I've had offers for work which I'm pretty sure could be scammers, who have asked if I accept credit card payments.

I don't have those facilities. But I was wondering if anyone else who has a business of photography whose had the same requests?
What would be in it for them?

This a copy of one of the emails I've deleted the persons name;

Hello, this is Mr blank! I will like to know if you are available for event photography,I have an event coming up.Get back to me if you accept credit cards as a method of payment.Thanks

I also had two people on separate occasions say to me that they have just recently had ear surgery and that's why they can't speak to me over the phone, how weird is that I'm pretty sure it's the same person just different names!

Skip's a working pro, and he's been around recently, I'd ask him.

Okay thanks yes, I knew all along it was a scam I can tell the legitimate ones. Scammers emails are normally poorly written also.

absolute scam :D

i got one texting me, claiming to be deaf and in an ICU recuperating from ear surgery. i played it out as far as i could before she gave up. what stopped her? the fact that i use PayPal...

it really doesn't take but a couple exchanges to realize that they're absolute BS, just phishing for someone naive enough to take the bait.

i imagine that sooner or later, one of these scammers is going to be tracked down and experience some serious physical, unholy, and irreversible harm by one of their victims...

Yes thank you skip I can tell a scam from a legitimate job, ;) I just emailed the person back and I said 'by the way do you realise that when you can get caught it's not going to be pleasant' hopefully it will put the fear of God into them :-)

The scum is really rising to the surface lately people are just trying anything!
