Donna-Dee, a relatively new DPCer, came up with a top-5 image in "Flora IV" that had me wondering about the processing. As SC, of course, I have the privilege of seeing validation originals and their processing steps. I was so intrigues by this effect that I asked Donna if she'd be willing to share with the community, and she graciously agreed. So, without further ado:

This is her original, lightly processed by me in RAW to show the details (her original was about a +1 exposure).

And this is the actual submission!

Finally, the processing steps she listed (CFX refers to Color Efex Pro, a Nik plugin);

LR basics, Exp contrast blacks clarity
Viveza structure contrast
PS clone spots
CFX tonal, detail, reflector, levels, bleach bypass, white neutralizer, photo stylize, remove color cast, solarization
Topaz adjust HDR collection heavy pop grunge with parts masked out in PS
Glow bright on white 88% multiply

The bold part is emphasis-added by me. THAT is where the inversion of black and white came from. I find the whole effect to be quite stunning, and I wouldn't have known how to accomplish it :-)

Very well done, Donna, and congrats on a new personal-best score.

This is interesting, I didn't know about this either!

Thank you Donna and Thank you Bear for sharing some inside!

Would it be good to have a sperate page where SC can share post processing for all winners so that we all can learn on how it is done?

Well, in an ideal world it would be nice, but it's not at all uncommon for folks to turn down a request from SC to share their originals and processing steps, and we can't force them to...

This was my favorite shot in the challenge. Very creative and artistic. The original would have done almost as good.

In the past some photographers have posted their original and processing steps in the forums (Individual Photo Discussion section) upon request -- and you can request that yourself ... now in the "distant" pass photographers might put the information right in the photographer's comment section when submitting ...
