One of the former 2nd place images has been DQ'd because it was taken a day too early; the photographer counted wrong :-(

Congratulations to our new Yellow Ribbon and and HM images.

Sorry for the trouble caused folks, I feel so stupid.

I think i am OK with my camera-work, but does someone have an abacus to spare?

I bet GeorgesBogaert does :-) (He lives in Taipei.)

Please, no worries.... I love that image (we obviously all did) and you might not have shared it had it not been for that challenge!

Oh no! :(

Well, still a 10 in my mind, and I agree with penny. I'm glad you calculated wrong. We would have missed so much if it hadn't been entered.

The flaw was that it was the wrong date. ;)

Yeah, here in Taiwan, abacuses are (still) extremely popular. Most elementary school kids are good at using those.
Btw. If you need an electronic calculator.... I am collecting calculators and have around 4000 calculators at home :)
my website dedicated to Casio calculators is a reference for many. www.casio-calculator.com

Sorry to hear about the DQ. It was one of the only "real" flawed images in the top.

well of course herfotoperson is too young to need that sort of abacus. nonetheless we mourn the loss of the ribbon but continue to celebrate a most 10-worthy shot.

I may have something for your collection, from the 1970s?

I do have this old adding machine that may be able to count up to 7, although it only has buttons from 1-5 in each row, and is calibrated for the pound system, not metric.
