Nothing tees me off more than getting a 2. It's the voters way of saying, "Your image wasn't so worthless that I gave it a 1, but F-you, I couldn't be bothered to think about it long enough to find merit in it."

So I hereby extend my middle finger to anyone who's given anyone a 2. You deserve it.

(this is the right place for this, right?) :)

I got three of them in the last challenge. Does that make a 6? :)

I don't love 1s very much either.

*sigh*

2 means I really hate it but I can imagine it being even worse. :)

I'm not sure I've ever given a one.

And... possibly not very many twos... They'd really have to suck.

*grin*

I have no problem whatsoever admitting that I have used every single number in the voting scale and, from a personal perspective, the votes were indeed reflective of my views relative to the value of the image.

If someone wishes to give me the middle finger for expressing my view, then so be it... can't say that I give a horse's petute.

As the French have been know to say on occasion, "allez vous faire foutre".

I'm new to this site and find people can be so rude. Ok, if you think you're so great why are you here? Just to make other people not want to join DPC? I find it very rude to give 1-3s unless they are exceptionally bad. I'll continue to give as many 10s as I feel deserving. There is no need to discourage people from learning a craft and voting everyone with low numbers is doing just that.

Perhaps you could take the time to demonstrate the "added value" of the comment you left (twice) on one of my photos:

"This photo is simply so so. I've. Seen so much better from others."

Not unlike a score of one or two, your comment is totally devoid of any semblance of a constructive critique.

Had you taken the time to indicate what it is about the image that you don't like, I would have marked the comment as "Useful", but sadly I can't since it says nothing other than the fact that you have seen better.

It might shock you to learn that I also have seen images from a variety of photographers that I consider much superior to mine and that is why I come here.... to learn.

Welcome aboard, get to know people and participate... I am certain that you will get to like this place.

whining about scores never gets old.

And one of the reasons I got tired of DPC. Picked up my camera again this month, and going to give it another bash and see if the mojo can return.

I used to panic about scores but now I honestly couldn't care less because I know I'm good and any low ball vote is obviously down to the voters lack of style simple as that 😜

THANK YOU Ray, you made me stop and think. As I quoted I am new and was taking all this middle finger stuff too seriously. I also did not mean to post twice. Was on my silly Kindle and if you have one you know they are a little quirky. Thanks again for setting this Southern girl straight. :-)

You are very welcome Cyrilda. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the site, participate in the challenges, meander throughout the place and look at the bevy of remarkable images and do take the time to read some of the wonderful instructions that many have left to improve our skills.

I am confident that it will not take you long to appreciate the fact that this is much, much more than a place where people come to participate in photo challenges... this is a family, and we all strive to help each other with whatever issues come to the fore.

I know that I am a much better person now than I was before I came here.

Enjoy your stay.
