I just stop by to visit, after what is probably years away from dpchallenge, and quickly jumped into voting on a current challenge. The first I noticed is that the quality of the photography is pretty high overall and even the images that connected with me the least were still better than an average snapshot. So now I'm wondering what the typical approach to voting is? Do I simply judge east image on it's own merit or do I compare the challenge entries and go for a nice bell curve? In other words, should by average score be around 5 so we are comparing entries to each other or is it ok for an overall good challenge to have an average around 7?

Thanks!

Voting Guidelines

some people vote on an absolute scale, i.e. only give a 10 to a great image. other people vote comparatively, i.e. give a 10 because it's one of the best images in that challenge. as long as you vote consistently you should be fine. I'm guessing the biggest chance of you running into a problem is if you only give extreme scores, like all 9s and 10s or all 1s and 2s.
