I am not sure I have a good handle on what a lifestyle portrait is. Is someone willing to help clarify the difference between a Lifestyle Portrait and an Environmental Portrait? |

I was wondering the same thing! Half the lifestyle portraits that claimed they were lifestyle just seemed like action portraits. The other half seemed like environmental. |

Basically seems like the same thing to me, at least in the overlapping areas, so to speak. |

I don't think they are the same.
Lifestyle portrait is a way someone chooses to live, dress, behave, etc...
Environmental portrait I really think of someone at work in his/her environment.
maybe when combining both it can confuse. ex. A tattoo artist tattooing and having his own body covered with tattoos
My take of a lifestyle shot
My take of an environmental shot

Blurred lines for me.....some peoples' lifestyles are their environment.

Your lifestyle goes with you, through every change of environment.
Some lifestyles dominate every environment. Some environments dominate any lifestyle. |

I surprised myself by entering this challenge, but I'm sure my entry won't score well. This thread only confirms that expectation.

The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.
