No reason why it should. It's a great, great twitterstorm of a funny meme. Even the President has joined in the fun:

It's in that spirit that we made the challenge. Let's enjoy!

I predict the REALITY is that the WINNER will be leaked three days before voting ends.

Lydia, I believe you have access to Mexican frogs, that's a yuuuge advantage.

NOTE: As a voter, I try not to hold political messages I don't agree with against the entry. ...unless it's not funny. It better be funny. And I don't mean Kathy Griffin funny.

I can NOT abide snakes. Cannot even LOOK at a photo of them... really.

Yet, when I see one (and there are several in the recent challenge)... I grit my teeth, evaluate truthfully, and vote.

Then, I cringe and move on.

It's not that I have a problem with "the other side"... I just think that anything so blatantly political as making a challenge out of a president's typo, autocorrect, policy, or... is asking for trouble.

Did we ever have a prior high-level political person's gaff as a challenge topic?

I think it's shifting sand...

Nothing good can come of it.

That said, I'll find something and enter it. Because... well... that's what I do! Ha!

I don't think I'll comment, though. Sounds risky.

Of course not, that would be racist! :P

The point is there IS no point. Why are we here? Why is there covfefe?

Why is Trump now the most powerful man in the world?! WTF were you Americans (and fellow Russian cohorts) thinking?!

Anyway, someone...I forget who...won an Expert challenge with an image of someone's head exploding after reading the headline 'Trump Wins Presidency' or similar. Can't remember who made it but very well done. Want to insert image of that here!

Politics are so inflammatory... and DPC is a place where we go to get away from the "World".

Some folks will be looking to be offended by every entry...

Seems like a disaster to me...

We should enter whatever political entry we like in any challenge we like... but I think that DPC should not have ANY inkling of politics in any of its challenge topics.

Tailspin...

Lydia, the man himself challenged the entire nation to figure out the meaning of "covfefe" and told us to have fun doing it.

I consider dpc to be part of the world. I also believe that a person's artistic or artisanal output are reflections of her necessarily political nature. To turn a phrase, Inflame qui peut.

High horse. Sigh.

Herfotomanster exfoliated dictionary [you know, like peeling the layers away to get to the true meaning of the word.... well I thought it was cute]

Electorate puts elected officials on a High Horse for the good of the .........[insert the local country variable]
Horses, even High ones, poop
The elected must take care of their own High Horse's mess, in an acceptable way

Sometimes they do that by throwing it haphazardly about, often hitting the electorate
This action is called "covfefe"

Use:

Jacob:"I still covfefe better than Donald, as Nkandla gave me more practice than the Paris Agreement. HeHeHe"

Here's a thought, Lydia. Since this one has you so twisted up, take a pass on it.

I think it is topical, funny, and a great challenge. Kudos to the powers that be in the challenge selection committee.

I'm counting the snowflakes and so far there is only one.

Clever and well thought-out can win any challenge. I'm hopeful we will see some wonderful creativity in this one.

All I did was tell my opinion, just as others have.

There's no need to call me a "snowflake" or say that I'm on my "high horse". I am not "twisted up". I just stated my opinion.

I believe that everyone should be allowed to give their opinion when it is delivered kindly and without malice.

06/08/2017 11:05:13 AM · #46
no one said you were on a high horse, unless you are an elected official and aren't telling us
06/08/2017 11:12:07 AM · #47
I think we have a dichotomy here of "keep it light and not too serious" vs "beware the offensive challenge is looming" …
but like Bear said, even the man who sent the original Tweet challenged ppl to answer the question. So really, it may not be the political hand-grenade you are imagining.
And besides, maybe you are kinda bluffing and have a winner up your sleeve :D

...ahem...recent political challenge.

well, actually I had meant that I was on my high horse, about us all being inescapably political animals of one sort or another. and it was meant kindly.

There is no political viewpoint that is offended by "covfefe." So if you are offended by covfefe it has nothing to do with politics.

And I'm sorry I called you a snowflake. I meant to say you are a snovfefe.
