This post from Nikon Schools reminded me that my D810 can automatically do multiple exposures. Nikon School

Now, I have to figure on when I can drive to Mojave, CA to get multiple spinning wind turbines to cooperate.

Nice. My Canon 80D does multiple exposures too, so I may try playing with this when I have some time. Just need to come up with something interesting to try it on.

That's very cool! Thanks for posting. Will have to give that a try when things thaw out in the spring around here lol.

Is the output file a raw file? Or JPEG only?

JPEG, just like in camera timelapses. I do plan on doing several; one w/ the built in utility and another with an intervalometer of 10 individual RAW files.

OK, I was mistaken, multiple exposures can be shot in RAW. To automate the process (1 shutter release) the camera has to be in Program mode with the delay timer selected. The attached image is an in camera distillation of 10 exposures.

Up close, these things are HUGE. I think my Wife knows that we now have yet another photo stop whenever wind turbines are spotted.

I assumed that raw images could be used as a source, but was more interested to know if the output file was a jpeg, or I’d the camera somehow merged them into a raw file.

Can’t do much editing with a jpeg so I wouldn’t be too interested in this feature.
