The description from the People challenge has been updated to read as follows:

Formal and informal portraits, candids, group shots – just ensure that 1 or more people are the focus of your image.

In other words it is OK to have only 1 person in your photograph.

Thanx Langdon. Good to see I wasn't being an insane nitpicker...

I just snapped an extreme action shot of a person being spliced in two by a hedge trimming machine. Will it still count?

Rock on - I'll join your league of validated nitpickers :P.

Anyway - thanks langdon - really appreciate the clarification.

To think I was about five minutes away from posting my 1 person image for critique for fear of 'not-meeting-the-challenge' comments :).

Yes, irrespective of whether the voters interpret your image as containing one or two people you'll be fine. On the other hand if the subject died before you managed to click the shutter you may be voted down by those unwilling to accept that dead people are people too :).

Might not be extreme enought to some people or some people might not see why it should have anything to do with poeple. Hope you are enjoying the shot anyway.

Thanks for clarifying that, Langdon.

I am now waiting for: "what if one of them is IN focus, and the other is blurred in the background?" "Would aliens count as people?"

The list goes on........
