On the heels of the wildly popular Cherry Blossom festival GTG, it's time to announce the planning for DC Night Tour 2005!

I'm looking late June or into July (bypassing 4th of July Week since the security is always a pain in the tushie)

If I have enough interest in people coming in from out of town, I'm also willing to bump this to August. So- let's get some interest out and get a date nailed down. :)

I don't know what I'm doing yet this summer, but if I'm nearby (aka, east of Ohio) I'll probably stop by for a 2nd go at it.

Well, that's 4. So starting to think July/August ish for those looking to come out here. As part of this I'd really like to get a permit for us to shoot on Capitol grounds. To do that- I need a headcount. :)

It's hard to say this far out, but I would be interested in doing this trip again. I'd like another crack at exposing those bright, white monuments a little better.

Nova had mentioned something about a possible Shenandoah trip? Could be a good one for fall colors. Sorry, I know it's not related to the trip you mention but it never hurts to start planning ahead. Something to tuck away for future reference.

Ok...back to your regular summer channel... ;^)

I feel no sympathy Ms "I'm going on vacation 197 for the year" :)

Go enjoy your moonlight beaches and leave me to my cold, lonely Washington. ;)

So at this point in time- looking mid July to end of August. Any other folks from out of town interested?

I am not sure yet. Just like before. We have to complete the move to the new house first. Also, possibly I could offer a room for some out-of-towner.

This sounds fun... I need to get out of town. I haven't been to DC since my 5th grade DC trip!

I'd love to get down to DC! There's a chance I could be there at the end of July--27th to 31st.

It's official! DC Night Tour 2005 will be the weekend of July 29, 30, 31. The main event (World Famous Night Tour) will be July 30th. We have guests coming in from all over the US for this one. Hotel Auspitzand Hotel Showalter have limited space for those traveling from out of area. I can make regular hotel suggestions for those who need space and can't squueze in to the freebies. :)

I am starting work to attempt to get a permit to shoot with tripods on the grounds of the US Capitol in the early evening/twilight. Because this requires a permit, this particular event will be seperate from the overall night tour. So even if you can't stay for the night- this is a possibility.

Probable shooting events around that weekend are- Night Tour, Capitol Twilight Shoot, National Zoo shoot, Sunset Monuments, and Street Candids in Chinatown (Not to mention Tony Changs for lunch!)

So who's in? :)

I am definately in. Sort of like old home week for me. I appreciate terry picking me up at the airport and giving me a place to sleep. I have offered to make dinner for everyone who is around on July 29. If anyone has a more centrally located kitchen than Terrys house in PA, let me know.

This sounds like it would be so cool. I'm going to bring it up to my fiancee' tonight (after work) and see what he thinks about it!

I would love to. I'll have to check with the banker (hubby) and see if it's a possibility.

I shall plan on participating in this monumental gathering. Now on to regular English.

I live in the area (about 45 minutes out of DC) and may provide some lodging if needed. That should make enough floor/bed space for a few more people.
