I think it'll sell decently on a stock site...

i'd have given it between a 6 and 8 depending on how i was feeling.

I would have given it a four or a three. It's minimalist, and the basic concept of a fingerprint on paper is good (5 point start), but there's absolutely nothing to break the tedium of the monotone background (-1), and please, for the sake of mercy, no more pure white! Every time I have to look at a pure bright image, it's downright painful, and I feel compelled to dock points from strangers who hurt me.

Yellowed paper, or better yet, official police fingerprinting paper (or even a fake that could pass for it) with the depth of field set very narrow so only the fingerprint is in focus would have scored much higher, depending on how well it was done.

I feel like Z, mostly, although...

to me, it is a conceptual image first, the concept of which could, credibily, accomodate a minimalist perspective.

The idea of it, its reductive manner, the bold contrast, its stark vacancy in absence of any evidence of a humanizing aesthetic are noteworthy, as these, undeniably, provide strong stimuli, although selectively, particularly with respect to the limited number of senses it engages.

While, in this (single) sense, the image may show a considerable capacity to commote, it fails (IMO) to direct or carry the commotion forward towards a conceivable purpose, so it may prove some use. It's bold, reductive strength is quite physical and exclusive, which, effectively, denies us the possibility to feel anything else but the cold.

The potential transport of this image is aimed and, unfortunately, remains largely restricted to the mind. The heart, I don't feel, is sufficiently engaged to be able to complete any sort of distance. I cannot take its sense from here to there, depite the range of concept and cold prospects alluded to by the image.

In my book, it is a 4, but I would vote 5. I would vote 5 only because I think its problems are interesting in themselves and should therefore be counted.
