I cannot remember all the weepies from my young days, tears dont come easy when ya get past 40, well not for me anyhow I cried enough.

"God's Will" by Martina McBride

"Star Spangled Banner"

An older song....can't remember title or group...but it goes, "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun...."
(song we played at my brother's funeral)

Soundtrack to "Last of the Mohicans"

Selah does nicely on that one.

"That's my Son" by I think Mark Scholtz

and

"I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me (sung by my husband at my dad's funeral, and on the radio alot during my post-partum depression with my son born 8 days later)

"Go Rest High" (one of the songs we considered for my dad's funeral)

There are others, but most have probably not heard of them

This kind of Lonely ~ by Everlast

Sittin' alone and I hear rain fallin' on my windowsill
Just wanna do what's right but I don't know if I ever will
There's so many reasons, too many excuses
And all these prescriptions, got too many uses
And I'm so lonely
It's kind of scary
And this kind of lonely is making me weary
I'm so lonesome I could die

Sittin' alone and I am waitin' for the sun to shine
Sometimes I kneel and pray hoping someday you'll be mine
She's so many miles away
So many things to say
And all of the games we'd play don't matter anyway
Cause I'm so lonely
The sex is empty
But this kind of lonely makes it easy to tempt me
I'm so lonesome I could die
I'm so lonesome I could die

Sittin' alone and I am waitin' for somebody to call
Think if I up and died wouldn't nobody notice at all
Cause I'm so insecure and I feel so unsure
Can't take it anymore, no
It's never been like this before
And I'm so lonely, feel like cryin'
And this kinda lonely is worse than dyin'
I'm so lonesome I could die
I'm so lonesome I could die
I'm so lonesome I could die

Great - now I'm going to cry. Terry Jacks

Seasons In The Sun
( Terry Jacks )

Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and A B C's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.

Goodbye my friend it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......

Goodbye Papa please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along.

Goodbye Papa its hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them I'll be there.

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone.

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone.

Goodbye Michelle my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground.

Goodbye Michelle it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone

All our lives we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun

Another CCM afficionado. Well met.

It may seem weird, but "Audience of One" by Big Daddy Weave can get me going sometimes too.
