I recently purchased an Olympus C5050 camera, and I was then looking at the waterproof case for it (found for $150-$300). The case is made by Olympus, so I'm questioning whether it'll fit the camera. What I'm wondering is if anyone has experience with these things (for Olympus or otherwise), and what risks other than leakage that I have to worry about. Thanks.

I have a waterproof Pelican 1500. I carry my E-20 in on my Harley {on my luggage rack}. It's been in hail, rain, wind....not a drop of water.

I got mine from Camera World in Portland. (It's now Ritz)
Good luck.

I think I had seen those cases... they're just for carrying the camera, not for using it, as I recall. The cases I'm looking at would allow me to use the camera while engaging in wet activity (rafting, beach...). Thanks.

hi micro, I have a waterproof Cannon case for the Powershot S45 (I think it would also fit S50). It works very well, at least for snorkelling. I haven't tried scuba diving with it. Here's a url of a Boracay sunset pic I took using an encased Powershot. The lens was partially submerged.

I'll be experimenting with it again soon when I hit the beaches and coral gardens.

Justine that picture is georgous!

I have a Canon D60 and would love to do underwater/near water photography with my camera but I am so afraid to get it anywhere near water... if it gets wet it is fried. Does anyone know how trustworthy these cases are? and do they make one that fits the D60? if so, about how much do they run?

Thanks!
