Nice lighting, but the shot of the lens needs alot more depth of field. The sharpest point of focus is the lens cap which is arguably the least important part of the lens.

Hi Hollister
I think the cup and the watch look fine. Nice even light, good tones. But the lens?!?! The light is very hard on it (note hard shadows) and i can see a yellowish cast, it looks as if atleast one light isn't being diffused through the light tent. Not sure why. Something in the setup?

i dunno... what would be wrong with the setup.. the lens I know the DOF on it is bad I intended on that, just playin around with the tent and settings and stuff..

Seems like a great setup for shots where you require a clipping path, as a lot of stock images are geared towards. Please post a shot of your setup.

All this talk about light tents I decided to give it a try myself. I got the frame for the setup fron an old Barbie playpen that my little girl had. The whole thing comes apart and is joined in the corners by a 3-way plastic fittings. The beauty of this is it fits 1/2" copper pipe so I can make the tent as big as I require. The 100% cotton white sheet I got from WalMart for eight bucks.

Here's my first shot. Post-processing: white point for levels, USM 125%, 1.0 Rad., 0 Thresh, resized, re-USM 125%, .5 Rad., 0 Thresh. Just an experiment at this point. Comments welcome.
