Does anyone have and use the VCL-HGD0758 wide angle conversion lens or the VCL-HGD1758 telephoto conversion lens? I was thinking about purchasing one or both, but I'd like some input as to whether they are worth the cost for the results. |

I have both but I don't really use them often.
I guess it depends on what your intentions are for them.
Are you constantly shoot distant picture (tele) or wish you alway had a slightly more pan view. If not, and you don't plan to become a profesional any time soon. I would think twice.
However, If you do wish for the extra tele/wide all the times then I think it would be a great accessory. The weight and size are little big but normal for a quality lens. I would also shop around unless you are press for time. I bought mine here:
Provantage
Sorry, but you will need to type in mode number in search area for better results. Site a little hard to move around but the price is good.
Tele = 205.93
Wide = 195.58
Not including shipping.
Good luck
PS. When I bought mine, the lens on picture was silver. Now it is black. Not sure if it is the correct picture on site.

Actually I was more interested in the telephoto to have the ability to shoot nice macros of difficult insect wildlife without them flying away all the time or freezing them :) If this is completely the wrong hardware for this application, let me know.......I am still very wet behind the ears. |

No macro ability at all with the telephoto. In fact, the focal distance increases dramatically at full telephoto - from 3 feet to about 8 feet.
