I was looking at my comments marked helpful / comments made percentage, and was wondering what is typical around here.
My stats are:
Made: 379
Helpful: 302
302 / 379 = 79.7%

Those stats are utterly meaningless.
Some people NEVER EVER tick that box, others tick it always as a means of acknowledging that they read the feeback.
Some people only tick positive comments, not matter how useful the negatives might have been.
Everybody else seems to be influenced by the wind or by what sort of a hair day they are having. |

I was 65% helpful, and Nobody can beat me at being helpful!!
However, having made 1547+ (since I have commented some on recent challenges) and only receiving 342, I tend not to comment as much as I used to.

OK, I pulled up Calculator and finally did the math. Looks like I'm 82% helpful. I guess the other 18% is cheesy. :-)
My goal is to give more than I recieve though :-) Which is kinda hard with a constant inflow of comments on certain photos.

I really do try to be constructive with my comments, even when I'm being critical. You can be honest without being cruel. Maybe I'm too nice - it's probably the fact that I'm a Southern boy. LOL

| The other factor making this stat less-than-accurate is that the "Helpful" checkbox was not added until quite a long time after the site started. Very few people went back through old challenge entries just to check-off that box, so there's a huge number of comments which never had the opportunity to be marked as helpful. |
