She said "yes!" *gulp* Now what?
The planning is in full swing and we've got a lot to do. Since I can be a bit on the picky side, especially when it comes to photography, I've got the job of finding a photographer. My catch? It's in Puerto Vallarta Feb 2007 and I know nothing about the area.
I did a lot of searching around on the web and I've found a couple places that I like. So I'm preparing my photo for the "gold" challenge and she's watching over my shoulder and says "have you asked anyone on DPC?" She can be brilliant sometimes when I miss the obvious.
Is anyone here local to Puerto Vallarta and shooting weddings? Does anyone have recommendations of someone to use?
My feeling is that the memories will be good, the clothes and details may fade, but the photos will be the one thing we've always got, so they've got to be right. I'm willing to go the extra mile to make sure they turn out, but I'd like to find someone local so I don't have the pay the travel expenses. If that's not possible, then maybe I put that behind me and do what I need to and get good shots.
Any suggestions? |

Hey Matt, congratulations on your engagement!
Last January and February, we were in Puerto Vallarta with some friends and had a great time. Before we left I posted here asking if any local DPC members would like to GTG. No one replied, so maybe there aren't any.
There are a lot of wedding photographers there. I hear it’s a popular place for weddings. I was out walking around the beach at the hotel we stayed at (Velas Vallarta) and there were a couple photographers shooting photos of the bride as she stood on the jetty with her dress blowing in the breeze. She smiled at me when I snapped a few shots of my own.
You should find a bunch of local wedding photographers with a google search.
