Hi
I have been using D70s for quite sometimes. I am satisfied with the camera but come shooting outdoor for lanscape photo for example with S priority or A priority, it always got under exposure.

Auto mode always give me the perfect exposure. Is it due to software issue? Any Nikon D70s user having the same problem? How did you overcome this problem then?

Hope I am getting some advise here. Thanks.

I've got a D70 and have never come across this with my camera. It should be something you can fix by just giving it more exposure.

Exposure compensation would be something to try.

Also, googling D70s + exposure may bring up other forums where this is being discussed. DPReview may have a Nikon forum you could check.

maybe you just don't have enought light to handle that shutterspeed...

A, S, and Auto should give exactly the same amount of exposure, although perhaps with a different combination of aperature and shutter speed, providing:

1. You are in 3D Matrix Metering in A and S (it's forced in Auto).
2. You haven't reached the end of the range -- for instance you are in S mode and have set 1/1000 shutter speed, but there isn't enough light to get an exposure. The display will indicate "LO" but maybe you weren't looking.

You can test the camera out by setting it in Auto, noticing the exposure, then setting to S with the same shutter speed which should give the same aperature, then setting to A with the same aperature which should give the same shutter speed.

Thanks to all reply but I will take Tlmy's advise and test it out. Any more ideas about it?

I have a miserable time shooting in A, S and P. My images look like garbage in all those modes.

Shoot in M and that IMHO is the best way to get exactly what you're looking for. I suppose P and A are good for some people, as walking-around modes but it doesn't work at all for me.

Go manual...

BTW, post some samples if you want more accurate advice.
