I got my acct all set up...got it working how i wwant..prices all set, etc.

Now...

I have some products that I sell (photo books, DVD slideshows, Web CD's, etc.) that smugmug doesn't offer, or that I have to make myself and/or customize. Is there anyway to add products to smugmug that don't get fulfilled by smugmug, just charged for? I would hate to have to make my clients order through smugmug and then again through me for certain products.

I seriously doubt it. But try contacting them. I have found their staff to be very helpful and very quick with their replies. You can email them at help@smugmug.com

I believe there is a way that you can do what you want, but I'm not sure how it's done.

Have you tried asking your question on DGrin.com? There are a several SmugMug support forums there with lots of helpful SmugMug customization gurus.

You can also contact the SmugMug folks via e-mail at: help@smugmug.com

I use smugmug for proofing online and gifts only because I do not like the shipping charges. Clients rec a proof book (mpix) and order forms (nebs.com) from me when I am finished with the photos. I want to be able to see the prints first and deliver them personally. I love to see thier faces when they look at them. I also package them in plain gift boxes or gift bags with ribbon and a sticker with my name and logo. Looks very professional.

Hi Kevin,

I believe that in order to do this, you'd need to have your own domain name, your own shopping cart page for order fulfillment, and some customization. ie. Customer clicks on "Do you want a DVD slideshow?" and it takes them to your own personal page where they can click and order it. I don't think Smugmug can charge customers for items that they cannot deliver. Remember, they take a commission/handling fee on your sales so you might not even want them to do that anyway.

Thank you for your comments but please stick to the topic at hand. I wasn't asking for your opinion of why smugmug is not a good service for you, I was merely asking a usability question about selling my own products there.
