I'm really curious for some feedback on my card design. the corners are dead, for i have a template that has "cut areas" that are in the borders of the outside edge, so that's what's up w/ the negative space.

but
i'm definitely not a designer, so i'd like some opinions.

is the image (on the right) too much? i want it to look professional.

thanks so much.

just any idea,

you could make the whole card the photo, then have the writing abovr her arms, and contact information below...

it looke good like this, although the corners are a bit bland

I think it's good, even if printed the way it is. sometimes, a photo as the whole background looks so cliche. it's simple and elegant, I think it's a keeper.

I like the card but to look professional IMO you should not use a Google email address - You have the domain, setup some mail hosting and use it (maybe sales@ or your first name@ or something).

It looks good, Jon. I would prefer to see more separation between the elements on the left half and the right half. I also think it would look better if your printed name were bigger and your logo were smaller. And I'm pretty sure "photographical" isn't a word, so it might work better with "photography" or "photographic." The image looks good (though it might be better if she were facing toward your name to draw more attention into the card) and I really like the white on black cards -- they seem to stand out more.

Your colors, logo, and image are very clean and professional. For me it's a little to 'boxy'. Things seem to be set up in quadrant format.

Some other things I noticed...

- You leave no way for those without internet access to contact you. And yes, there are still some people out there without email!

- I'm not sure I like your breakdown of services. Portraits and Headshots, for example. I would just list portraits and not headshots. Aren't they sort of one in the same?

- You list fraternities and sororities. Why? Just thinking that they would fall under a previously listed portraits/groups/events category.

- I agree with the above, ditch the gmail email. Since you already own the domain, use it! Everything else looks so professional...until you get to "gmail".

- Maybe put the "[For?] All your photographic needs" along the bottom away from the list...?

Edit:

Here's a quick try. Certainly not great but changed a few things I mentioned above.
