Went with this...

Decent score 5.99 (doh!)

Could have gone with this...

Probably would have been really close. Maybe a bit more, a bit less...

Went with this shot because I loved the light & purity of it, and it tanked. Why, I don't know.

Was originally going to enter this, and probably should have:

I had a difficult time picking a shot for this challenge. My first choice was this black/white.

It was just so ordinary, so I processed it in a muted color to try to liven it up and keep the aged feel.

This was my third pick. It was just too small to see all the cool details. This would have been my entry if the min size in this challenge had been large enough to accommodate it.

So, I cropped it down to what ended up being the final shot.

I really suffer from trying to throw everything into one picture, so I tried to simplify my style with the first two shots. I just like the 3rd one best, with all the junk in it. I entered the last one just because of the size limitations.

Any feedback on which was the right selection?

This is what I entered:

I'm not sure that either one of these would have done better.

Live and (never) learn.

Outtake (would have scored high, I suppose, but is boring)

Entry (was hammered, but I still like it))

Took a bunch of Aidan on the tracks. Submitted the portrait mode shot into a subgroup challenge at another site and placed first.

The first two I liked when I opened them - liked the challenge submission when I saw it in the challenge, but you're right - the third one is the best - it really does need the extra room. Very nice work!

- Couldn't do much with the blown out smoke, so passed on this one.

- After the voting started I realized what I should have done with my entry. I couldn't get it to look sharp at the submit size. Afterwards I went back- oversharpened and then resized and there it was, the entry that I should've put in.

I missed the challenge cutoff by 3 minutes not realizing that they used EST. Darn time zones, lol.

This would have been my entry:

I played with it in B/W, but preferred the color image:

Not by any means a pretty picture. Genitalia warning etc. This is what I withdrew.
