Asim, what a finding! Not a very resting environment for a library, with that striking red... :)

David, I think I still prefer your entry, but I love rose macro too and the angle you used there.

Here's my entry:
and a couple of outakes with a different crop: , and a different PP and crop:

Really like your photo. The outtake is a nice closeup too but the posted one wins in creativity and originality.

I think all I need to do for my outtake is remove that horrendous border. ^_^

This is my submission,

and this is one I almost considered

I never did edit the cherries, I just now resized to put up. :)

I like both, but I'd chose the outtake: the red is more vibrant and I like her pose better. Here you could crop tighter to show less white, but keeping the dress...

I know this is a little old, but I'd love some feedback if anyone has time.

My submission (4.9):

My other options:

Would any of these have done any better?

Dang! I put these in my 'Workshop' and forgot about them. Hope it's not too late to share these?

glad2badad,

I liked your original entry (scored it an 8) and still think it's the best of the bunch. Although I do like this one as well:

Voters seemed to be very narrow with their idea of what red tones would actually count as "red" for the challenge. I think my berries being not a primary tone of red hurt on the scoring.

Thanks! I agree about the red tones...I had some feedback about the barn being too brown, and it probably was.

The 'Dangling Hook' photo was my first choice actually, and my wife happened to see the one I ended up entering, and I went with the "ooh, I like this..." factor. :D

Your photo doesn't have a comment section, but I have to say that I love this rose! Really a lovely capture.
