Are we able to share photos that for challenges not apart of the DPL with our teamates such as Free Study seeing we will not be able to vote on theirs anyway?

Thanks

It is not the correct manner of voting to vote on a photo you have seen proir to voting outside WPL, in WPL corridor the voting has been set not too.

Good question Rich... did you open a ticket on that or can SC chime in on this one?

Thats not the point or has anything todo with what i or he has said.

He is under the impression we cant vote on ANY challenge entry's submitted by our team mates (Has nothing to do with having seen them). I think he is mistaken and we cant vote on entrys that our our teammates in DPL challenges ONLY. Meaning we cant share all challenge entries.

DPL members as you probly know are allowed to share their entries in private because they cant vote on them. The question is from me is voting actually blocked team mate wise on other challenges. And his question is if it is blocked can you share them too in private.

I have a feeling they are not blocked and no ur not allowed to share.

It's never been against the rules to share a challenge entry, or to get feedback from other DPC members on it.

What IS against the rules is "friend voting" or sharing your entries specifically and solely in order to attempt to manipulate voting/receive higher votes from others.

So, in DPL the system itself will not allow you to vote on a teammates entry if the challenge is DPL-eligible. For challenges that are not part of the DPL, it's still not illegal to share your entry and nothing will prohibit a team member from voting on your entry. You just need make sure that there is not a clear and consistent pattern of unfair vote manipulation if you do vote on an entry where you know who the photographer is.

Many people find it's easier to avoid all appearance of impropriety if they just plain do not vote on entries that they have seen before, and while in certain cases the system won't prevent it, it's probably a good practice to follow.

Thank you to L2 for clearing this up, I was under the impression as Rain had mentioned that we would be prohibited from voting on all challenges for our teamates and just wanted to clarify so as not to create the "friend voting" issue that we have had in the past.

Just trying to figure out the rules of the WPL as being a team captain, I would like to understand the rules so I can better help my team.

Thanks to all for their input.

I don't know if anyone on our newbie team (Zero Division) plans to enter the Free Study this month or anytime soon, but I think I'll recommend to them that we *not* share anything but our league entries with each other. Even with the best intentions, I imagine I'd subconsciously favor my teammates just a smidge.

just don't vote if you know the shot.

Uh -- yeah, I guess that's even simpler. :-)

Our DPL team (Critical Mass) all agreed that we're not going to limit our sharing to DPL-eligible challenges. That sharing of subjects, editing ideas, etc. is why we created the team more than competition.

We also explicitly committed to not voting on each others' entries that we've seen. We know it's not literally illegal, but we want to avoid any possible concerns.

So if we decide to share a free study, for instance, none of us will vote on it.
