I took this picture today. The weekend before I was taking pictures inside a wedding chapel. I never switched lenses. BUT I get this dust, or something like it, that I've not seen before. I came home and I'm gonna use my air thingy to clean it out. Is this something people see often?

Dust spots, yes. Get them all the time. But what you have appears to be a hair or something. Never had that. |

The higher the Aperture number, the more chance you are going to see any dust on your sensor.

That doesn't look like normal dust, more like a hair or small fibre somewhere. It should come off with a bit of blowing. To test for dust set your aperture as "small" as possible (f/22), focus on infinity, and shoot a white card. |

Thanks. It's night time here in Japan but that's what I'll try to do.
I'm sure the photo was taken at a low aperture, but I can't really remember...I was in S mode and focusing more on just getting some good urban shots. |

I'm a dust expert. Just search the forums under "damaged my sensor" !
With that said, your "hair" doesn't seem to be on the sensor. Just my opinion. |
